While in Portland, my friend “R” didn’t really have many requests, but he did have one. He wanted to visit Podnah’s Pit, a barbecue shop that was pretty famous. We went there for a late breakfast and aside from trying to find parking, we didn’t have any problems. Once we got inside we were quickly seated and then had to decide what to get.
Podnah’s Pit
Podnah’s is a really interesting place. There is a small bar for singles and a bunch of tables too. I really liked the laid back decor and felt relaxed, but things were a bit busy when we got there. It took a while to simply order, but I believe they were having problems with their computer systems and they did apologize. The character of the place was also laid back, so if you are in a rush, try to relax.

When at Podnah’s, you should have the barbecue, but since it was breakfast I didn’t feel like getting ribs, and it wasn’t available for breakfast. Instead I got a couple chorizo tacos. It was a real mess to eat but it was really good. It was just a couple tacos but they were really stuffed with chorizo, eggs, potatoes, and everything else that goes in a breakfast taco. While it was only a couple tacos, I was extremely stuffed after and felt like a beached whale.

Trying to go to Podnah’s for dinner is going to be difficult when I need to go to Portland and try all of the different breweries. I do want to go there at night and try the ribs or any of the other delicious items on the menu, but I don’t know when that will be. I really do want to go back to Portland and Podnah’s is definitely on my list of places I’d love to go back to again, but not sure if I will.
