There are 3 main shopping outlets in Guam, not including the main shopping strip: the Guam Premier Outlets, Kmart, and the Micronesia Mall. The Micronesia Mall is a standard mall that isn’t very big and not very good. It has all of your needs in one shop and the only reason I went there was because it had a shop that I needed to visit. It is not a place that I would recommend to everyone but it isn’t a bad place either. If you want a look at a typical old style American shopping mall, the Micronesia Mall is your best bet; otherwise you might want to skip it.
The mall itself is located away from the main hotel strip in Guam. I chose to walk there from my hotel and it took about 30 minutes or so. It isn’t an easy walk as from the beach you have to walk uphill to get to the main street, and then walk another long distance in the sun to get there. You are better off taking a bus or taxi. Once I got there, I walked around a bit but there really wasn’t anything I was interested in. I was only interested in going to the Docomo Pacific shop because I needed a SIM card. There is a food court and a Macy’s department store but other than that a lot of the shops are derivative of what you can find elsewhere. The prices seem reasonable but nothing really stood out to me. The only other reason to stop off at the Micronesia Mall is to go to Two Lover’s Point as the shuttle bus stops there, but if you aren’t interested in heading out there, there really isn’t any point to go there.

I’ve actually been there, too! Although my friend and I were only there for their movie theater…you know, because they have release movies earlier than Japan. It was hilarious because we went on a weekday afternoon so not even the locals were there and we had the whole theater to ourselves! And the movie we watched ended up not even making its way to Japan so I think we were pretty lucky ;D
Sounds like a fun time. I couldn’t watch a movie like that. I was too attracted to the beach. 😉
Although it was pretty lucky you got to watch a movie that didn’t come out in Japan. 🙂
Don’t worry, we were literally in the water for so long that our fingers looked like raisins the whole trip! I love how the beaches in Guam aren’t as crowded, it was like having our own private beach ;D
Yay! Raisin fingers from the beach! 😀
Guam beaches aren’t as crowded? I found it pretty crowded when I went, but then again I was only at the main beach at Tumon. With all this cloudy and rainy weather, I’m wishing I was back there again right now. 🙂
