Going to Singapore and exploring the city for a few hours each day lead me to learn a few things. On weekends, in Orchard, there is a lot of music being played on the streets and a few interesting street performers. They do everything possible to entertain you and on one afternoon, I was lucky enough to catch a bit of a drum performance. The group had a LOT of people and they used every form of percussion I could imagine. Of course they used traditional modern percussion tools, not Japanese taiko, or other equipment. You can watch a portion of the show below. They kept this up for a long time as I’m sure they were playing for at least 30 minutes and it was basically a free concert for everyone. It was great entertainment and it shows that you just never know what you’ll see when you are travelling in any city.
Happy African! 😀
You should be. I was hoping you’d like it as I was thinking you would when I took the video. 😉
Performances like this are always fun to watch! I’m thinking about stopping by Singapore on my way back from Australia this fall. Maybe I’ll get see them, too ;D
You should stop on the way back. It is great! I would love to visit more often but money is a big problem when visiting Singapore.
it’s very good entertainment, and so beautiful, I would love to watch it
